True spirit

What I know now is that every living thing has a spirit. But there is only one spirit. The spirit of a being is connected to the spirit of life, who is God and the essence of life. The presence of the spirit is everywhere, at all times, giving life to all things.

What I know is that there is a seed of peace, joy, love and wisdom in each of us. My seeds had been trampled upon by the bad behavior of the adults in my life. It would be a spiritual bypass for me to say they did the best they could, because the truth is, we can all be better if we choose to be.

What I know is that the people who hurt, betrayed and disappointed me did not change. My prayers for spiritual clarity, peace of mind, and the desire to be pleasing in my service to God changed how I viewed myself, my life and the others who come to share the experience of living with me.

Cut down on fizzy drinks

Hey ladies! Did u know that women who drink sugary cool drinks daily are 83 percent more likely to have a certain type of stroke than women who don't.

While these findings don't prove that fizzy drinks are to blame for the higher stroke risk, a number of other studies have shown a link between high sugar intake and clogged arteries. The best healthy drink is cranberry juice. And this coming summer cut off those fizzy frozen drinks.

SMARTPHONES The high the low

Did you know that the definition of smartphone is mobile device which has an upgradable operating system (OS). There are many flavours of operating systems ranging from the current favourite Android (the creation of the search engine giant Google), iOS, (the Apple platform for the Apple range as well as other devices), and Blackberry .

There are others currently being developed by various chinese vendors using the Android source code, such a Nimbu.

In South Africa, there are already roughly 19million smartphones connected and functioning. These devices are mainly the high end devices such as the Apple iphone, Blackberry and the samsung S range.

THE BATTLE OF THE OSes
In South Africa the current smartphone OS leader is Android with 50% of the market, led mainly by the Korean manufacturers, namely Samsung with their highly popular S4 series and the likes of LG.

The rise of Android in the market will be driven by the increased availability of the low cost smartphones coupled with the growing mobile app ecosystem.

APPS THE IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION
One of the key influencers in making the decision to purchase a smartphone has become the availability of apps or applications which can be installed on the device.

Once you become accustomed to using apps, you will understand the importance of making the right choices.

Spice up your love

There is always a moment when I ask myself "whose idea was this?" We will be turning 6years of happiness together on 1st of January 2014, been through thick and thin together. We've had things done together as a family practically everyday. From the very first day I said I do, I've handed him a glass of whiskey on rocks as he has ever loved his drink, I've seen his eyes close in rapture as he's played his guitar.

We call each other everyday when we are not home just to check on what keeps me or him busy. He is one man who appreciates everything I do for him and this keeps our relationship grow stronger day by day.

In a healthy relationship you need to retain a sense of independence and value each other's different strengths. These strengths are what makes you who you are, shaping your approach to life and bringing you happiness. Coming from a similar background creates understanding and common value systems.

Women's Day 9th August

Got something to say! The 9th of August was women's day which is celebrated by South African women every year. On this date, the voice of a woman was heard. I started celebrating mine with breakfast in bed which was prepared by my hubby. This was so loving. He really showed how important being a woman is in his life.

I did not have any words to say but only said I love you more. After having breakfast in bed, we went to buy groceries for the house with the two kids then had lunch at spur restaurant in centurion lifestyle centre. After lunch, we got back home and unpacked the staff from the car and I started to prepare myself for the ladies outing.

Around 7pm,I went to fetch a friend from Leeds by the name of Nthabiseng who is one of my good friends. We went to woodmead news café to enjoy cocktail drinks. This was really a night o remember. We laughed and danced till 1am. It was really nice and fun to be out there with a friend and talk about all sought of things. We left the place at 1am and arrived home safe.

My birthday celebration

On 16th of June was my birthday, fathers day and youth day. This year 2013 has been a year that I celebrated my birthday with two other occasions being Father's Day and youth day. The first person to wish me happy birthday was my husband then followed by my mother who called in as early as 6am. I was spoiled by my husband who made me breakfast in bed. Wow I just loved the feeling.

We left for Rietvlei Dam in centurion at midday for a braai with the whole family and my niece Ruiza and my brother in law Yope. The day was very sunny.

Photo's were taken, braai went on well. Not every woman would feel the way I feel when it comes to be spoiled by the love of my life. Among my very good friends, only few are treated with love and care and are shown the love I get from my husband. Some even get to an extent of telling me that they wish they were in my shoes. I reply to them that everything has got time, their time to be spoiled will come at the right time as they just have to be patient about it.

Later at night we went out to watch the Malawian musician Lucius Banda who was performing live in Mayfair Johannesburg. The concert was boring and the were fights every second minute.

Madiba Day 18th July!

On Thursday morning, I left for Thabo Mbeki Village Day Care Centre in Diepsloot for the Mandela Day. Before heading for  Diepsloot, I had to drop off my baby girl at Crèche in Midrand. Got to the day care centre around 10am and only to find that the celebration was starting at 12:30pm. I rushed to the nearest filling station to crab myself a meat pie and soft drink. On my way back to the centre I was stopped by a traffic officer at the roadblock and was asked to produce a drivers license of which I did produce.

As I produced it I was asked if I registered for traffic register and I looked very stupid as I did not do it but had to lie and he believed what I said. Got to my business of the day. The celebration started with the little ones singing a birthday song for the icon Madiba. Wow such a blessing for him to reach this far in life.

Seeing the little ones sing was so joyous. The children were then offered food and drinks. After lunch , we had to play with the little ones games and jumping on the jumping castle and this was so challenging for the other kids.

This day made me realize how important it is to help out the need and show them the love that they deserve. Poor people out there need food to eat in order to survive. I 'am kindly asking for donations of food stuff, Toys, funds or anything you can afford for the little ones at Thabo Mbeki Village Day Care Centre in Diepsloot. Your help will b highly appreciated. Chatting Online

I 'am deeply attached to my technology. Upon awakening, I reach for my white iPhone. It is white to match my present fascination with the colour white. It is dressed in a specially selected cover so when I touch it I feel the cool hard steel in my hands. It really thrills me.

Hungrily I begin reading e-mails and whatsApp messages received during the night. I feel starved for information, connection and chat. Across my room I gaze lovingly at my MacBook also white in colour, covered with its luminous purple cover bought at the iStore in Hong Kong during my December holiday in 2012.

I sometimes wonder what it is like to have old fashioned voice to voice communication. I have become so used to streaming online music and radio and watching a You Tube video whilst I WhatsApp a quick thought or message, Facebook an engaging post or tweet an article.

Technology has been my playground ever since I bought my iPhone and IPad, the place where I gain and give information. I find it satisfying as it interacts with me on a daily basis. On the other hand I'm being blamed by my partner that this technology has put me off on having good quality time with him. Hey without technology, I don't think I would find life interesting.

Ladies night

On 7th of June I finished writing my mid year exams and the last paper was  fair such that I finished within an hour writing. After going through so much pressure of studying, on Friday the 7 my friends Thandi, Julie and I went out to news café in emperors palace and we had all the fun we wanted to have.

On Saturday, I couldn't even get out of bed as I was still nursing hangover. Doing ladies nights is one of the things that keep me going and mostly when I'm feeling low the ladies cheer me up. I have friends who r there for me when ever I need them and I do the same to them.

Friends are what u make them.

Exam preparations

My 2013 exam preparations has been so hard such that I have panicked. This semester has been the semester I have panicked this much as I will be writing 6 modules. I haven't been having normal rests and only to find myself sleeping for only 4 hours a day.

Everyone at home has been feeling the pressure I have been going through as I have had no time for family but only for books. It really feels like having a nerve break down. The fear is always there before writing the first paper, but once it is done it really gets away.

My first paper was English literature of which I wrote on the 28th and was not easy at all as I expected myself to finish writing within an hour but I ended up writing for 2 and half hours.

Exam preparations are better done with patience and start earlier so that a week before exams you only do revisions. All I want is to achieve good results at the end.

Trip to zambia

On 9th of May,I left for zambia to attend a bridal shower for my brothers wife. I travelled by road with the means of intercape bus from Johannesburg to kitwe zambia. The journey was so long such that I told myself never again to travel by road. It was very hectic as it took 2days to reach my destination.

I arrived home on Saturday morning at 1:30am and only to find my mother and nieces still awake as they were waiting for me to arrive. Round about 8am, my auntie and I went into town to buy outfits for the occasion. Clothes were bought and went back home to prepare for the function.

Aunties and cousins arrived, it was a cheerful day as we had met after along time. Hugs and kisses were shared.

At 3 o'clock, we headed for the function and we were greatly welcomed by my sister in laws relatives. It was a traditional bridal shower and I had experienced things I have never done in my life before. I was the one to light up the candle and uncover the brides face and welcomed her to my family. She is a loving, caring ,charming and friendly sister in law. On Monday 13th of may I left zambia and arrived this place Johannesburg the next day on Tuesday. Still had a long journey back home. My babies were happy to see me back home so did I.

Tuli's 8th birthday.

On 8 th of May was my first baby's 8th birthday. On this morning, the boy was wished happy birthday and gave him his new bicycle as his present. He was so happy. We had a good family breakfast and later in the afternoon went to Gold reef city.

Games were so fun to play and the little sister to the birthday boy was all over the place like she was the one celebrating. For over the past years we have been going to the casino to play games, this day was Tuli's lucky day as he won 200 tickets from the spin and win machine, as well as managed to pick up 2 kitten bears at once, it was a challenge for the boy.

We then had dinner at one of the restaurants inside the casino which we all enjoyed. We went home and had a night family prayer. With God everything is possible.

Palisha's 3rd birthday.

On 8th of April, 2013 was my little girls 3rd birthday. On that special day morning when she woke up,we wished her well and blessings. She woke up very energetic and she asked what had been planned on that very day. My response was that it will be a surprise, she smiled. I drove her to kindergarten that morning.

At 3 o'clock her friends and teachers celebrated with her, cake was cut and party packs given out to her classmates. At 5 o'clock I went to fetch her and only to find her in a joyful mood. Her teacher told me that she really enjoyed the party and company of friends and that the cake was very Devine.

She just couldn't stop talking about the birthday as it was her first birthday celebrated at kindergarten. For dinner, my family and I went to spur restaurant at Irene shopping complex. The excitement was just uncontrollable.

She made me to be a proud mother because I couldn't believe she would say a wish of which she said " I wish to grow older like grand mum ". She really cracked me down. I thanked god for giving me a brilliant child.

As a mother of two, I always try to balance the love for the two kids. I love them equally.

Easter holiday break.

My Easter holiday was well spent away from my home centurion. The journey was very tiery as there was traffic jam all the way to Durban. The roadblocks were well controlled. My family and I left home late in the afternoon and during the journey, we only came across one accident where by a taxi went to heat into a truck packed by the roadside. I did not expect to witness such an accident because I was expecting to see more as it has been recorded of late that during Easter holidays a lot of car accidents occur.

At 11pm we arrived at Zimbali resort. Come rain come sunshine, the next day was a sunny day and we spent the whole day at the beach and the weather was just too good for swimming. I loved the fact that I forgot about my body shape as I was trying to make my self enjoy swimming.

I loved the fact that I forgot about my body shape and wore my bikini and felt like a sweet 16. My friends really put me off when they talk about my weight gain. Spending holidays away from homes is the best way to have time to relax and to bond with children. The youngest child who can not swim, loved the atmosphere and enjoyed playing with shells in the ocean.

Holiday was over and we came back home.

Shaka Zulu land visit.

On Saturday the 29th of march,2013,we visited Shaka Zulu land in Durban with the family. At 12:30pm we were asked to go to the big shack were the Zulu culture dance was being performed, it was a live performance of men and woman. The drums were good as well as the dance. We basically saw were Shaka Zulu originated from.

The culture dance reminded me of the old days when I studied history in high school, it was a great thing to tell kids what Shaka Zulu was all about. The performance was great. From the dance we were invited for lunch and were saved African Zulu dishes, well the food was divine.

The tour was very very exhausting as we were shown around the village. After the tour we returned back to the hotel and called it a day to remember. The visit was a memorable one!

Feeling the Vibe!

Like every woman, I have had my fair share of challenges. I have battled with weight gain, got my heart broken and lost a loved one, that's my elder sister, she was my pillar. I deeply miss her.

Yep I know what it means when one says they are faced with challenges. But through it all, I have always come out stronger than before. A good life lesson is that what you can't kill, can only make you stronger and wiser.

Challenges also taught me to appreciate and cherish life. What makes me feel good is having fun with my family and going shopping. It is amazing how much I have achieved because I have put my heart into it and never allow my circumstances to determine what the future holds. I am one person who has come to believe that to be true is that the best things in life are free! having a good laugh with my family is free
and finding my best dress that suits my body perfectly makes me feel good. One day, I want to look back and know that I have added value to others. Stay free and have a happy Human Rights Day.

Doors opened.

Most of the time, we hold on things, we are afraid to let go. We are sometimes scared of leaving a secure job to go and start our own businesses.

We are scared to walk out of a relationship that hasn't been working for a while because we are afraid of what people are going to say. In my life I have learnt not to worry about what people will say. I have really moved on in life and I have faith in me. Have had ups and downs. We also keep on making excuses for a lack of progress in our lives.

We need to let go and let god deal with the issues that we are facing. I always thank god for all he has done in my life and now that he has opened for me of which I will not let him close. Sometimes we forget that when one door closes, another one opens. We are also used to being in control of our lives that we prevent god from doing his job. He truly has our best interest at heart. I have just been blessed. Love of my life showed me how to love and respect others. He is a man of god! till death do us part.

Fun day on a Saturday!

I have grown up in a home where we all love taking photographs and that includes my two beautiful kids and my husband and I have always been competing to see who could get the best shot! Photograph helps me capture special moments that I can keep forever. We travel a lot most especially during public holidays so we love taking photos of interesting people, places, fashion and animals.

You will not catch me without a digital camera while on holiday. My home is filled with memories that make me smile everyday whenever I 'am down. My biggest joy comes from people's reactions to my photographs.

On Saturday the 2nd of march I was hired to go and take photo's at a kids birthday party for a family friend  and this made the love of my life" hubby" jealous because I proved to him that I was the best photographer in the house. Well all went on well on that lovely day and he appreciated my passion.

Festive season holiday 2012.

There is nothing better than spending the festive season with loved ones, enjoying good food, fun times and revealing in the spirit of Christmas. But for my husband there was something special planned for the festive in 2012. On 20th December my husband told me that our Christmas will be spent in Asia and I couldn't believe his words, on the same night of 20th December,he asked me to put all necessary travelling documents in place as we were leaving on the next day the 21st. On 21st we left for Hong Kong with the 2 kids being a boy and a girl. It was our fist time to get out of Africa,it was a great experience. One funny part was that when we got to the hotel room on 22nd,we decided to take a nap of which we all did around 9am and only to find ourselves waking up the next day. Changing of time was not really our thing, but we eventually got used to the time changes.

On Christmas Day we visited Hong KongDisneyland and I could see smiles on my two kids faces. We all enjoyed the outing. On 30th December we left for China. On 1st of January,2013 we spent our day indoors as we were bonding more with the kids. From the 1st to the 4th,shopping was done on a daily basis. I enjoyed shopping as it is one of my hobbies and the other inner side part of me missed the home made food.

We came back to Africa on the 5th of January, well visiting Asia was an exciting experience I will never forget in my life because I had all the happiness and love given. Lastly I thanked my husband for taking us to Asia and meeting with good hearted people.Chinese people are loving, charming and friendly.
